Agata Bogacka (born in 1976, Warsaw where she lives and works) is one of the most important painters in Poland who is present in the art scene from the early 2000. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2001 and soon she has gained wide recognition for her characteristic figurative acrylic paintings in which she recorded her emotional states and everyday experiences.
In recent years, Bogacka has turned towards more abstract approaches, using the painterly language of poetical geometry and metaphysical abstraction. With minimal elements of compositions articulated in a multi layered painting process characterized by smooth brush strokes and through the harmonies and the confrontations of the gradient tones of colors, rhythms of forms, lines and plain fields she refers different psychological and mental states, tensions and dynamic of interpersonal relations. Her recent paintings are subtle visual analyzes of different emotional realities and trying to explore content beyond the tangibility of material substance.

Agata Bogacka’s works are in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw; Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw; The ING Polish Art Foundation, National Museum in Gdansk; Museum Jerke in Recklinghausen; The Bank Austria Creditanstalt collection; Jankilevitsch Collection and in private collections in Poland, Hungary and other countries.
